SB Nation, The Verge, Eater, and Polygon have access to structured data.
If your site has access to structured data—like venues, games, or brands—data links and tags can be helpful for search performance.
Tagging your story ensures it’ll be added to pages on your site that are powered by structured data. These tags and links can help individual stories perform better in search results, and when used consistently over time, they show search engines that your site has a wealth of information on broader, commonly searched terms. (Consistently using groups is similarly beneficial for SEO.)
Add tags to a story
- Head to the Tags section on Compose screen.
- To get automated suggestions, hit Suggest tags and links.
- To a tag manually, search for it in the relevant field. Tags can only be added if they already exist as structured data. Entering freeform tags is not permitted in the editor, as that can hurt search performance.
Remove tags by selecting the remove icon next to a specific term, or by selecting remove all.
