Managers can create accounts for other people, and update permissions.
Accounts on Chorus cover a wide range of roles and permissions to support your organization. A freelancer account will allow you to add someone to a byline, but the user won’t be able to access any Chorus tools themselves. This is useful for one-off contributors, an entity like “Vox Staff,” or member submissions.
To add a freelancer:
- From your Chorus dashboard, select Admin and then Legacy Chorus, then navigate to the Members table.
- Select Create New Freelancer.
- Enter a username. Note: spaces are not allowed.
- Enter the contributor’s email address, first name, and last name.
- Select Save.
At this point, the user will have a freelance account, and can now be added to a byline. They won’t have access to Chorus, unless you add additional permissions.
After creating a freelance account, you may want to create an author profile to display all their articles and improve their ranking in search results.
