Embedding allows you to add objects like tweets and YouTube videos to your stories without any raw HTML.
To add an embed:
- Select the Embed icon from the toolbar (next to the Insert menu).
- Paste a link to your embed.
- Hit Return or select Get embed. You’ll can preview the embed and adjust any advanced settings.
- Select Insert embed to add it to your story.
Note: If the service you want to add is not supported via the embed tool, you may be able to add it as an HTML block. Only HTTPS content is supported and HTML comes with tradeoffs. It will likely not be visible on platforms like Google AMP and Apple News, so proceed with caution.
HTTPS is required
Embedding content from insecure sources (ones that uses HTTP instead of HTTPS) will prevent your story from being published.
To ensure the content we share with audiences is secure, everything we publish—including embeds from third parties—must be served over HTTPS. Insecure embeds can be intercepted and modified, which makes them easy targets for those looking to compromise the privacy and security of web users.
The encryption that comes with HTTPS is the most audience-friendly approach, and switching to HTTPS will also help stories load faster and perform better in search results. Learn more about HTTPS from What’s Tech.
